Internship courses at the Department of Sociology

SOCN20, SOCN21 and SOCN22

The first two courses (SOCN20, SOCN21) are for students of our master's programmes SASAN, SASCO and SACCR.

As part of the master's programmes, you can choose to do your internship in a research project. For this you need to fill out a special agreement, available further down this page.

The third course (SOCN22) is specially designed for students who have completed our Bachelor Programme in Sociology or our Bachelor Programme in Social Anthropology (links to lu.se).

SOCN20, Internship, 15 credits

This course is for students of our master's programmes SASAN, SASCO and SACCR and is optional on the third (autumn) semester.

The course gives you the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge in working life. You will gain specialised understanding of how sociological or social anthropological knowledge and skills can be applied in organisational contexts and in working life. It is your responsibility to find an appropriate work placement.

The teaching on the course consists of an introductory lecture and an examination seminar.

Internship agreement

At the beginning of the course, a written internship agreement must be in place between the host organisation (i.e. the workplace), yourself, and the internship coordinator at the department. This internship agreement must be in accordance with what is specified in the course syllabus (qualified tasks and the minimum and maximum number of hours).

It must be signed by:

  1. you (i.e. the student),
  2. the internship supervisor at the workplace and
  3. the internship coordinator at the Department of Sociology.

Send the internship agreement to the internship coordinator at the Department of Sociology.

Internship in research projects

Internships in the Department's research projects are open to students of the Department’s Master’s programmes (internship courses SOCN20 and SOCN21).

This internship agreement must be in accordance with what is specified in the course syllabus (qualified tasks and the minimum and maximum number of hours).

  3. the Head of Department at the Department of Sociology.
